Last night I retired to my little guest house to focus my energies on my goals. The evening started with reviewing admission requirements for a couple of schools. It didn’t take long before the hunger from the day set in. What did I do? I made a BIG salad. Mostly fresh Romaine lettuce, grape tomatoes, roasted chicken and low-cal Italian dressing. It was yummy! And because of the crunchy lettuce it took a while to eat, so by the time I was done I wasn’t hungry anymore!!
I stayed awake longer than usual reading articles online and freaking out about the current financial markets. I finally hit the sheets around 1am. Usually it is nearly impossible to wake up in the morning, but this morning I practically bounded out of bed! It wasn’t necessarily my salad, but we can certainly pretend it was!
Today my eating/exercising was quite responsible:
9:00am ** bagel w/ veggie cream cheese
12:00pm ** low-cal yogurt & croissant
3-4:00pm ** HIKE!!
6:30pm ** small portion of beef w/ broccoli & glass of skim milk
In review, not enough veggies… I get it. I needed to have another salad for dinner, but I was hungry after my hike – which is a whole other story!!
OK, my hike. I took my boss on a hike in the Hollywood hills the last time she was here and she encouraged me to take time and go during the work day. Today was my first day of trying to make it work.
It was great! It was only a 5 minute drive and the hike took 45 minutes. The sweat and the scenery was fantastic! That is, until I got back to work. See… I tend to get these AWFUL under-boob-sweat stains after working out and I forgot to bring an extra shirt (whoops!) so I spent the rest of the afternoon trying to be stealth and hide my embarrassing boob sweat from the students at school. Lesson learned.
So after an adequate day of being healthy it is time to chill and hit the hay. For now I’m watching the Simpsons smuggle prescription drugs from Canada. Ahhhh pop culture.
Happy weight watching!
